OK, I ordered some memory from Crucial yesterday afternoon at 1PM. The quick bastards sent it out at 3:30PM the same day (they rock!!:)). So I'm checking the package status and the stuff has already traveled from Idaho to Greensboro by this morning and it's on the truck for delivery. But then it says that they won't deliver until Tuesday?? WTF!! Wouldn't it seem logical to deliver it on Monday?

According to Fedex's schedule, President's Day (Monday) isn't a holiday

If you get FedEx Ground, they'll wait until the scheduled delivery date to drop off your package.

Sucks, doesn't it? I like UPS better. Their tracking is more efficient, I think.

It's Fedex 2-day, not ground.

Might want to call FedEx on that one...FedEx ground is basically just RPS taken over (Roadway Package System...I think?), but FedEx 2-day is usually really good. I'd expect it to be delivered today...but I'd call to complain if it's not.

how many times must people be reminded that fedex doesn't deliver on saturdays except for on overnight packages with the saturday delivery upgrade?

Oops - forgot about that. I guess you can expect it on Monday, as is the popular consensus.

If you ordered it Friday via Fedex 2 day the scheduled delivery date should be Tuesday.

Yeah, but my point was that if it's already on the truck, they might as well go ahead and deliver it Monday:) If they wanted to wait til Tueday to deliver it, why would they put it on the truck today? It's not like they're gonna leave a Fedex truck sitting in the parking lot til Tuesday just b/c my package is 2-day :)

You'll be lucky to get it Monday. FedEx commonly holds the packages now until their delivery date because too many people are using 2nd & 3rd day delivery assuming they'll get it quicker. All depends on the driver.

if they delivered a bunch of 2nd and 3rd day packages early, people would stop using (and paying for) next day. i've never had a package from fedex delivered early, always on the 'date' scheduled.

fedex sucks. if you have it shipped to your house, they hold stuff in their warehouse to get you to "bump up" to overnight or 2 day service. You can call the local warehouse and schedule a pickup. They do this when I order from newegg. Newegg is about an hour from my house, the fedex warehouse is 1/2 hour. they'll hold a package for 3 days if i have it shipped home or deliver it the next day if it's sent to work.

You'll get it Tuesday. Fedex likes to teach people a lesson that you'll get your package on the scheduled date (or late) and not earlier.

I think it's going to depend on your driver. I normally get packages from Newegg (CA to GA) in 2 days using Fedex Saver (which is a 3 day service). However, there has been the occasional instance where they waited the extra day to delivery just because it wasn't due until then. If it says out for delivery you will probably get it Monday.

i was supposed to have gotten it in 2 days from newegg but there are moron working at FEDEX! he couldn't find my address and said incorrect address, and then the next day they left it there, no redelivery! so I called and a CSR said that my address is incorrect?! WTF? obviously clueless as what was going on. I had to confirm the address for redelivery. Hopefully I will get it monday, if not I am going to have to keep bugging them and this is not something I like to resort to. :(
btw, when I was talking with CSR, I was being encouraged to come over and pick up on saturday, hell no, I don't have time and it's convenient as well. This is very shady of Fedex, everytime they make mistake, they try to get you come over instead so they don't have to come over. I'm not stupid, won't play that game LMAO.

Like what Flashram said, it depends on the driver. You might get it on Monday. Sometimes, they are only an estimate for the date of delivery. Usually packages that sit in the truck over the weekend will get delivered on Monday, if already in the area.
