Question about FDisk

I've a primairy partition on a harddisk, but now I've got to make an extended partition on the same HD. Can this be done without losing data on the primary partition? And can this be done with Partition Magic?

Thanx!

A primary partition is separate and independent of an extended partition.

Of course, you can only make an extended partition if you have room left over after making a primary partition.

IE if you have a 10GB hard drive, and your primary partition is 10GB, then you can't make an extended without 1st changing the size of your primary.

Remember to create the logical partition inside the extended partition.
