Question about Fair Moderating

I'll try to answer but a mod probably has a better handle on it.
An infractions serves as notice that you did something wrong. I believe they may have a point value but I don't know how the mods are using them.

basically, they are not currently assigned to the automated ban system, so they are more like an "easy warning and note" system.

They can be set to auto-vacation after a certain number of points and etc. are accrued. Now, we just do it all manually.

Infractions dont actually do anything. Think of them as a quick way to record warnings that we give to you. Currently, you can get 10 billion warnings, and nothing will happen because of the infractions themselves. We have to manually vacation you, it is not done automatically.

Infractions are assigned points based on the severity of the infraction, but are currently all set at 1. Points then expire after a certain number of days, currentlys et at 10. The functionality exists where if you get over x number of infractions or have x number of 'points' at a given time, you can be auto-vacationed. That is not currently enabled, as we are trying to moderate with a light hand, so all decisions are made manually.

Infractions = parking tickets!
People get so many that the towns put a thing around their tire so their car is disabled!

Yes set thresholds that auto time out with a paypal "restore my account now!" feature. The "fine" increases with the amount of infractions and frequency of repeat offenses. :awe:

LOL, just like in the real world, some people can afford more "freedom of speech" then others.

Perhaps but the action of a few jackasses should not mess things up for everyone?

Do people WANT it that bad?

I'm sure if the forums REQUIRED a real email (no freebies) and OT REQUIRED a pay subscription the number of trolls would drop like a meadow sprayed with 2-4-D. 😀

If they required a paid subscription for OT it would be more like spraying said meadow with Roundup. I would agree that everybody should have to have list at least list a real email address to have an account.

Prometon. 😉

Although overmixed emulsion of 2.4-D will seriously brown out everything.

I've actually killed bluegrass with 2,4-D once. As I recall it was Ester? I was mixing it strong to take out some creepers along with the dandelions that I was mainly after. The last tank I mixed I was getting tired and must have had a brain fart and put the chemical in twice? Honestly I don't know what I did but it was the heat of the day and I killed some of grass right it my front yard. Especially where I overlapped the spray. Duhhhh!!

Yes supposedly if this happens you can water the crap out of it to save beneficial grasses. Bluegrass always comes back though.
