Question about excel (the phone company, not MS)

Some of my friends when on some meeting and are hooked on this thing and expect to make tons of money since appartently a few of the excel people hit it big and made a few bucks. Bragging how they were 18 yet made more then doctors or something of that sort. Seems like a thing to just sell out your friends and family, like the Cutco thing. Am I right?

A friend of mine tried to get me in it...I went to one meeting...wasn't impressed.

Pyramid sales of long distance.

One guy who was a former sales mgr where I worked got a client to switch their long distance. This client had huge long distance bills so they probably saved some money (and made this guy money) but I remember they had no long distance for over 48 hrs one time.

Oh...and this sales mgr got the President to switch our company's LD over, too. I remember now we had problems like once a week for 6 months until we switched back.

I have a brother-in-law who dove into Excel with both feet. He worked his butt off for months, but never really made any money. In theory, it's great - all you have to do is get countless people to change their telecom provider to Excel. If you can do that, you'll do well. If you can't, no soup for you.
