Question about EVGA stepup program.

You mean if you manually overclock? I don't remember off-hand, but it shouldn't matter. If you OC with software, just rip the card out, and if you altered the bios, then just flash it back. It does have to have the stock cooler, though.

The caveats are:
-You have to do it within 90 days of purchasing the card.
-Some cards have long wait times

Also, the MSRPs for the new cards are ridiculously high in some cases. I think that sometimes you could do better if you bought the new card discounted somewhere and then ebayed the old one, but I guess there's less hassle this way, depending on how you look at it.

I did not mean manually overclocked cards. I remember someone saying that factory overclocked EVGA cards are not covered under stepup. Is this true or not? I did read the FAQ but there's nothing conclusive about this on there.

They're covered. The wording is strange, what they're saying is that they won't offer stock overclocked cards as the one you're stepping up to.

Oh, also, make sure you purchased from an authorized reseller. They've got a list on the page linked earlier.

Unfortunatly that list is only about system vendors (people who build/sell compelte systems) and has nothing to do with buying and individual card. I emailed evga about a site and they responded with 24 hours that it was authorized (thenerds.net) so don't be turned off of smaller sites.
