Question about electronic Relays

But the regular controler doesn't have power until the unit is on. How are you going to flip a relay using power from a controler that doesn't have any power? Or am I just totaly misunderstanding something.

Wait would it work if I used the ground instead? Or do you have to have electricity to have ground?
