Just got my e8400 running at 4ghz. Cpu-z reports my vcore in windows at 1.328 with orthos running. I am at the 2 hour mark in orthos and staying up all night to see if it will take a 8-10 hour run stable.
I dont want to fry the chip, or degrade it. I read about the 1.36 vcore limit some say intel said is the highest safest voltage they suggest, and made sure i stayed below it.
So this chip hasnt seen 3.7vcore yet, nor will it. Should I be dropping down the OC or should i feel pretty safe in this spot? The load temps are hovering around 59c-60c. Once I get my yate loons in I should drop a few C. HSF is a 9700LED with AS5.
So I might pick up another HSF. I play mmorpgs exclusively, so that was the reasoning behind the OC. I dont plan to ever go past this OC, and might even creep back down to 3.8ghz. Unsure.
