Well I finished doing it and i just have to mail out one piece of form (IT 201-E) and it says to attach Form W-2 Copy 2 onto it

Are they picky or can i just staple it

I think I heard somethikng like you gotto do it without staples or paperclips (with tape, tape it from front to back since that way they can move it out of the way when they move to scan it.

Should i do tape or not even attach them together, just put em in the same envilope?

I bet there are accountants that make fun of people that ask these kind of questions kinda like we make fun of the people using cd-roms as cupholders... do'h 🙂

Any suggestions?

There should be the option of electronically signing the return. That way you don't have send any paperwork at all.

it is that way for the federal, i did that

for state it says i have to send that piece in

maybe sending it in via mail is only for NY state?

Most states want you to send in a paper signature and the W2s.

The feds allow you to transmitt an electronic signature.

Some states will also allow you this leeway if you have done an electronic filing the previous year.
