Question about DVD Shrink

ok I have a couple movies in raw format (Video & Audio TS folders) that take very large amount of space, approx 4 gigs. How can I convert/compress these to a smaller format, such as mpeg,mpg,or avi (not divx, or should I go divx?) - and how do I back these up to a DVD disc with just dvd shrink itself?

why not just burn them to a dvd as data?

If they're in IFO/VOB format. Just burn them to a DVD using NERO or something similar. There's no need to use Shrink unless you want to remove something or if the data is larger than 4.37GB.

But I want to keep a format that I can just play through the hard drive, I have windows server 2003, and a media center enabled labtop that im putting through an LCD TV, I want to find the best format that I cann display on, but not take over 4 gigs each movie.

I also need to know, once I got these ripped into a VOB, how do I put them back to a DVD? I dont have access to the meida anymore, do I convert it to an ISO and then burn? I have MagicISO, but its trial only and doesnt do anything more then 300 megs....someone please help me.

If they're ripped to IFO mode, AutoGK is definitely the easiest solution. It's seriously just a few clicks and it'll encode to xvid or divx and do everything.

I also hear FairUse Wizard is quite good, and that has support for encoding to h264.
