I suppose this is more of a rant than anything else... At the DMV of Virginia website, they say that if you are under the age of 19, you must complete drivers ed. to get your license. Wha?! OK, I understand their reasoning behind that, but for people like me that need to drive, didn't take drivers ed. in school, and don't have hundreds to spend on the stupid class, is there any way around that requirement?

Seems to me that if you've had your learner's long enough, turned 18, driven to the point of insanity more than once, and you can drive the stupid car around the block for the guy at the DMV without running into anything, you should be able to get your license without the class. Err, maybe not. I suppose that could be dangerous...

Anyway, I'm done ranting about that. Your comments are appreciated :)

Contrary to actual belief, there may be a bit more to the test than " driving around the block without hitting anything."

There is every possibility that there would be a written test that COULD have questions about driving laws on it. Of course not living in Virginia, this is all pure speculation on my part.
