Question about domain transfer

I was going to transfer my domain name from GoDaddy to Yahoo because of the better rate. My domain name doesn't expire with GoDaddy until next May. Do I have to pay double for that time (GoDaddy's rate + Yahoo's rate) or do I get a pro-rated refund or something? Also, is the Yahoo rate of $4.95 better than GoDaddy's rate of $8.95 (I mean is GoDaddy worth the extra money)? Thanks.

What made you change your mind? I'm willing to pay extra if there is a good reason for it. Have you tried Yahoo's domain registration?
