Well, I am moving out of the house (duplex) I've lived in for 3 years, and here is the story. About 3 years ago I moved in with a friend, things were good and all, then about 1.5-2 years ago he moved out, got his stuff, and left to Dallas. Well, I lost all his contact information and have no way to get a hold of him, although I really never needed to. The problem is that now I found a new place to live and I want to disconnect the phone and the utilities that are under his name. However is this possible? I remember one time about 1 year ago I tried to change my phone plan and the Verizon lady told me that my roomie needed to do that, I never really persuaded it anymore so I just totally forgot. I just want to know if I can cancel these services specially since I have been paying for them for like 2 years but they are not under my name. Anything I can do?

Thanks,

Tell them the deal and that you are going to stop paying the bill soon and that if they want they can find him - i mean in actual fact if you're unable to and they can't help you it's no skin off your back - it was in his name and will affect his credit if you've put in a reasonable effort to find him.

i agree. though it seems like you are being an prick for this dont worry you arent. first off he should have never left them on in his name. 2nd it wont hurt you in any way. you paid the bills and want them shut off. you have done all you can.
