question about dimms...

Ok i've got a gigabyte ga-7zm socket a board. it says in the manual that it supports 512mb dimms. So i bought 2 512mb pc100 registered ecc kingstons in the forsale/trade forum. I try them on my board and i just get beeping. Is it because they are registered? do they even make unbuffered 512mb dimms? I just wanted to try them out on this board and see the big 1 GB show up, even though they are gonna be used in a server. But still wondering why it didnt work.

it was the "you have no ram" beep code. these dimms had 36 chips on them, it was double pcb, with buffer chips. So i figure maybe the electrical load might have been too much, but i'm not sure.
