I recently got a new Toshiba laptop with a radeon 200m chipset and it has VGA out and 4pin S-video out. I wanted to hook this laptop up to my TV with 3 RCA component cables. I looked on ebay and I see 2 different kinds of VGA to TV cables. 1 kind has the VGA to RCA with only 1 yellow video output. The other kind has VGA to RCA with 3 yellow, red, and white video & audio output. My question is if I get the second type of connector, will my laptop output the audio through the VGA output?!?!

Your computer will not output the audio through the VGA port. Is there a picture of the cable? Maybe it has a stereo miniplug in addition to the VGA connector.

Does your laptop support tv-out through the vga port?

If not, you can get an svideo to composite adapter. Some laptops (and video cards, for that matter) use a connector on the board that looks passingly like Svideo, but acually handles svideo, composite, and audio with a plug in cable, which doesn't always come in the box.

You'll need to do some research on your particular laptop before figuring out what you need.

Here's the cable, it doesn't have a stereo miniplug:

EDIT: Here is the ebay listing:

The best is this part which makes no sense at all to me:
This line needs special necessary display card (G400, the NV6 series by superior, etc) supports the VGA signal transforms the S signal or the AV signal ,This use must display card with television (TV) to output the function, does not have this function not to be able to use, generally for double display, the host display for the monitor, vice-display for the television. Because this line segment leaves beginnings and ends for female, therefore you need to match S or AV connect the television equipment to the wiring by this.(if you need this cable please pay more GBP3 we will ship it with item together for you).

Be careful, some of those conversions are simply impossible in a passive cable. They require circuitry on the video card itself to support them. Thus that one cable that only works with certain NVIDIA cards.
