Ok im starting to learn little by little. What I understood is if a 939 mobo didnt support Amd Dual core cpu(X2-3800) out of the box you needed to flash the bios. If you didnt have a old 939 cpu (non dual core) then you couldnt update it because it needs a cpu. I sent Dfi an email and litterally in one half hour this is their response

Dear Customer,

All DFI LAN Party series NF4 M/B support AMD 64 Dual Core CPU with BIOS updated on 6/23/2005. Even the date of the BIOS is not on 6/23/2005. The system will boot up find. It takes less one minute to flash the BIOS to enable the micro code in order to recognize the CPU correctly. Please just go for it and feel free to contact me directly if there is any problem.

Thanks and have a nice weekend

So my questions are
1) I should have no problems with the x2 and the Dfi as far as updating the bios to make it work with my cpu
2) I thought Dfi mobo was something for newbies to stay away from. Am i wrong?
3) Are Dfi mobo stable at clock speeds ie quality mobo

Dude you are worrying too much about it. Just put the bios disk in and start it up and flash the bios.

If you are a noob, just leave stuff on "auto" until you learn what it is. There is nothing about the setup that requires you to be an expert. It has more settings to tweak in the bios, but, as I said just leave things on auto if you don't know what they are. Don't worry about it, and just do it.

My DFI is more stable than my ASUS sli premium was.

1. Right,....the DFI will boot up fine, it will just see 1 core instead of two until you update the bios.
2. You are wrong,.... the DFI is easy. Just make sure you follow DFI's recommendations on PSU's and plug in all power connections.
3. Yes!

plug in ALL FOUR power connectors

when flashing go into BIOS and follow the following

RyderOCZ

When you flash do the following: In the bios "load optimized defaults" (make sure the 5V jumper is on the 3.3V setting first), save and exit, then reboot so you can boot to the floppy.

Type: awdflash n4d331-2.bin (substitute your BIOS filename) /py/sn/wb/cd/cc/cp, when it finishes, hit F1 to reboot, enter the bios again, then "load optimized defaults" again, save and exit

yep and if hes using the official he can use the diamond flash version, just boot to floppy and it does the rest. next button you hit is the floppy eject :p

Don't even get overclocking in your head until you have your system up and running, stable, and all patched up with drivers and such.
