Question about deus ex

I posted this question in the post about who is playing this game, but it got lost in the other posts. I have two computers, I know it will run on my desktop, but I am wondering if it will on my laptop. (600pIII, 192mb ram, 8mb video- 8-MB ATI Rage-Mobility P AGP 125-MHz SGRAM). Anyone have any expirence running it on a laptop or a computer with simular hardware?

I'm guessing here, but it may run using software rendering. I've run UT in D3D on a Rage on a desktop, but I don't think all the D3D features are supported. DX uses the original Unreal engine though, so it may be more compatible with older HW.

I'm curious why you haven't just downloaded the demo and seen if it runs? If you have a copy of Unreal you could also just try running that, but the DX demo would be the litmus test.

you know, that was a good idea. i just didn't even think about that. incedently, under hardware mode, i was getting a big black box where the mouse pointer was. i switched to software moce and maximized the window to the whole screen (except the taskbar) and then things ran just fine.
