Question about Dell warranties

Hi,

I was wondering if someone knew what would happen if someone bought a system from Dell and sold off the computer, but kept the monitor. If the next owner transfers the warranty over, is the Dell monitor still covered under the original warranty?

Just curious..

TIA,

Sal

technically dell branded parts have no warranty when used with another maker's equipment.

that said, theres no reason why they would know that

you generally need your service tag/code thing, though

That bites.. No warranty if not used with a Dell pc? What if I sell the pc from the system purchase and the new buyer transfers the warranty for the system over to their name and I need service later? Can I still get get the warranty on the monitor if the warranty for the system is transferred to someone else's name?

BTW.. I do have a Dell system and I could say that I was using it with a Dell system. The only problem is that my Dell system has been out of warranty for a few years.

Thanks again.

Call them and ask. Their customer support is generally pretty knowledgeable and friendly.
