Question about DDR ECC RAM, will it o/c worse?

I can get a hold of 256 MB of ECC Crucial DDR PC1600 ram for $100 shipped

I would get normal ram non-ecc, but its outta stock

the question is, will ECC work just the same? can i disable it? and if/when i do, will it overclock better or worse?

im pretty sure there is really no difference in OC'ing
havent tried though
