i used dban to clear a raptor and its done...but its still doing my 500gb one and it says 9 hours remaining

i just wanted to do the raptor...if i just turn the pc off...then just format and partion in the windows vista setup would this be alright

or would just stopping dban like that on the 500gb hard drive mess something up?

another quick question

when i format in vista it only takes like 5 seconds...why is this?in XP it took well over a half hour or more
 
XP should have given you an option of quick or full format, Vista apparently removed this option and always does a quick one. The only difference is the lack of a badblock test and if you're sure the drive is ok then the test is pointless anyway.
