Question about cutting case..

hey, i was wondering how should I cut my case for my window. I was gonna use my B&D RTX-2 rotary tool with reinforced cut off wheels to actually cut the case. But would it be smarter to cut like 1/4 of an inch away from the line(with the B&D) and finish with a file? By using a file I should get a cleaner cut, right? Even though it would add like 4+ hours to file it.

thx

If the B&D RTX-2 is B&D's equivalent to a Dremel then DON'T cut 1/4" away from the line - you will wear yourself with the filing. While it is true that a file will leave a finer finish than the cut-off wheels, it is still possible to botch the job with a file. Get a handfull of the cut-off wheels, wear good eye protection, and take your time. You should be able to keep your edge fairly straight and if you cut ON your line, you will only have to square the edge. There will be enough filing to do then.

Good luck!

I agree. That would be a ton of filing. Just take your time and you should be able to cut the line just fine.
