Question about CS: Source and vid card

No matter what speed I overclock my cpu to, 3000+, 3200+, and 3500+.....my Geforce Ultra (432/1.12) give mes 130 fps, all settings on high at 1280x1024. Does this mean the vid card is the bottleneck at this resolution? Just curious, it is great quality and speed, wondering if there is more horsepower in the card.

are you using AA and AF? if so then i would guess yes, your video card is limiting it. thats a really nice score for 4x 8x, good job 🙂

Yep, 6x AA, 16x AF. Thanks for the reply, I was thinking as much, just needed to confirm.

Nvidia doesn't support 6xAA so the game is defaulting back to 0xAA. Stick it on 4xAA and you'll see a drop in fps.

Thank you, found some links on it, seems you are correct. Thank you.

Don't lower your frame-rates by using AA at 1600x1200. At that high of a resolution AA is generally not needed. Use 8x AF at that resolution instead of 16x. There's not much IQ difference between the two.🙂
