I have an intel motherboard, it's a bit older (D915GAG), and I am trying to mount a Zalman 7000 series fan on the processor (P4 3 GHz HT). The fan didn't come with the parts to mount on socket 775, but they offer a product called the ZM-CS1. This is the hardware that supposedly allows you to accomplish this. When I installed everything and tightened down the screws, the fan is not really very tight on the processor. It can't be pulled up at all, but it can turn slightly with little effort...very annoying. Is this acceptable, or do I risk overheating with this scenario? Anyone have any ideas how to remedy this? Thanks much in advance.
