question about counter-strike

ok, i am staring at the console right now... what is the context i need to type in order to join a server with a password? i have never played on a password protected server before... so i'm just typing "connect xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:27015". then it tells me bad password. i know the password, but i dunno how to enter it. anyone help me out?

Or you can add the server under Internet games and it'll prompt for the password when you try to join the server. 😉

I think you can type the following:

password "<insert password here>"

That creates a permenant password that doesn't change until you change it manually again. Then, just join the server like you've been doing all along.

I THINK that should work. It's worth a try anyways.

thanx for the suggestion fatalbo, but i prefer to stay in the console, rather than click all over the place.

AmazonRasta: with the quotation marks?

You're idea about staying in the console is a good one. You can do ANYTHINg in the console without taking hours to click everywhere.

Try with the quotes. If it doesn't work, try without. One way or another should work. Good luck.

WTH? The time it took him to start this thread and wait for the replies to come, he could have just gone ahead and clicked away. Its not like you have to spend an hour clicking buttons. All you have to do is just add the server, then the password. Geez...
