Question about cooling an Athlon XP 1700+

Hey all,

Got a fairly straight forward question. I picked up one of the Athlon XP 1700+ systems from Outpost.com that was highly celebrated over in the hot deals forum. It has a Soyo DDR MB and I've added a Xtasy GeForce 3Ti 200 AGP card. I picked up a Cyber Mirror case from atxcases.com (great site and product, btw!). Anyway, it seems the CPU gets HOT. I mean, it just jumped all the way up to 52C and started hiccuping. I already have 2 Antec case fans in the thing. Any suggestions? How hot is this thing supposed to be, anyway?

Any suggestions y'all can make I'd appreciate!

Thanks a ton!

Hey all

Ok, I used whatever heatsink came with the boxed CPU. I have a front case fan and a rear. I used that Silver Antec goo (technically speaking) on the CPU when I installed it.

Hope that helps clear up some of the confusion. Right now I'm registering a Local Temp of 45C and a Remote of 41C.

Anything else I can let you guys know?

Thanks!
