Question about Coolermaster Dream HSF and Cooldrive 4

ie, I don't want to put this crappy fan speed controller for the HSF in my case.

I would rather control the fan speed from my cooldrive. This external speed controller, the HSF will work without it, right? Or do I have to have them both in?

I will assume you can use the HSF without it, no matter what the fan will work, but I am not sure at what RPM/voltage it will be running at.
