Question about component video

I have a DVD Player that has component video out and a TV that has component video in. Is it worth it to pay extra for those component video cables, or can I just get by with regular RCA A/V cables?

Yeah it makes a noticeable change. I used to run my DVD player using just the RCA cables. Then I bought a new TV (Sony Wega 27") and ran the DVD player with the RCA cables. After talking with one of my friends we decided to try out the component video and I have decided that I will never go back to RCA cables again. Well that is if I have the choice not to use them.😉

you should definitely use the component jacks. The difference in picture quality is noticeable. But, as far as paying beaucoup $$ for special component video cables, it isn't necessary. The only thing that makes those different is the name and thicker wire. Just go buy three decent-quality RCA video cables and plug 'em in to the component jacks. I highly doubt you'd see a difference between that and and a $50 component cable.
