I have to write a paper about my major, CIS, and I need to find some good sites that have information about different jobs that can be acquired with a CIS degree. Our library doesn't have jack and you can't imagine how many subjects "CIS" is acronym for. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate them.

It can't be that hard to find, why don't you try Job sites like monster.com they have required degrees and some mention CIS and the job description. You can also go to college sites and look under their programs which will tell you the job related fields for that major. There are thousands of places to look use the search engine.

Maybe this depends on the school, but isn't CIS a 2 year vocational degree taken at community college?

no, it was my major and I went to a 4-year school, but I do believe some 2-year schools have it. and so what if it is?

ELP, I had to do the same paper as you. I got most of my info from the library. I can't remember the names of the books, but they were reference books. just ask someone there about reference books for careers. they had info about salary ranges, education reqs., what you do, etc. I dont think its listed specifically as CIS though. Just look at different jobs like sys admin, programming, systems analyst, etc.

I also did personal interviews with professionals in different jobs to find out detail you cant find in books or websites. just find someone and call them, then ask them nicely, someone will say yes :)

good luck
