Question about Cingular data plans

So I am looking at the data plans and PC cards from Cingular, and was wondering if anyone has it?

Is service good in most areas of the country? When you use the data, do you also use minutes from your voice account?

Any comments and help are appreciated. Thanks.
 
I dont have the laptop data plan, but do have a PC card. It does the job that it's supposed to do.

The service works at edge speeds just about everywhere that there is decent reception. Data usage comes out of your data plan, not from your minutes.
 
Ok, awesome. I heard someplace that you had to watch your useage, even with unlimited, because it eats up your minutes. I could not find that anyplace on the Cingular website.
