question about check cards

Hey guys,
I have a bank of america check card (the one with the visa logo). I was wondering, they always give me the option to put the purchase under debit or credit. if i chose credit, do they still immediately deduct the cash from my account or do they wait till the end of the month? I'm just curious because my replacement credit card hasn't gotten in yet and I really need to go out this weekend 🙂

well for me, when i look at my bank statement, it will have the amount taken out w/a little * next to it, meaning its "in transaction" and not technically out yet. it usually takes a day or two until it goes through.

however, some places, it goes through quicker than others. and also, with gas stations when I buy gas, it will ALWAYS have *$1.00 for the charge, regardless if I paid $20 to fill up. and that kind of sucks because it will only deduct $1 from my total in my account, but when the actual transaction goes through (a day or two later) it will subtract that extra $19 out of my total to get the total $20.

if you don't pay attentino to those little things, you can miscalculate what you really have left in your bank account and go over.

my bank is chevy chase.

use a credit card always

then you will never have to worry about NSF fees like alot of the retards that post about it on ATOT

rewards + better fraud protection + basically a free loan till the end of the month

if you are prone to carrying a balance than nix that idea though
