Question about CD keys...

I was wondering if you could use the same CD key on some of todays games (Call of Duty, mostly) if you were all running on LAN using the same IP and you all went to the same servers. I have multiple computers that I would like to have my friends come over and play on, but only one copy of each of my games (makes sense..). I was wondering if it was possible if I could have several machines running the same CD key on the same internet server with other players if we were LAN'd.. any response is appriciated. Thanks.

I figured, but I mean, were you playing with both computers at the same time on an internet server? I want to install Call of Duty on my other computer so me and my friend can play here online on internet servers, not 1v1. If you play over LAN against another person it doesn't matter because the servers don't check CD keys over LAN... but if you play on the internet it checks the CD keys, so I just wanted to know how their CD key checking server would react if two people with the same IP came in with the same CD key aswell.

Most all games that use a key for online play will give you a "cd key in use" message if you try to connect to an internet server with more than one instance of the same cd key.

Oh well, I just hoped that maybe if the same instance of the cd key came from the same IP address it would let it through, guess not though. Thanks for the help.
