Question about Caviar Blacks

Would upgrading from a 16mb cache Caviar Blue (500gb) to the 640gb platter Caviar Black as my boot drive show a significant increase in speed?

I'm still using my 400 and 500 gb Blue as storage. I ran out of room on the 400, so I'm gonna work on the 500 and possibly upgrade the boot drive. SSDs are too pricey for me.

Also, is there a significant increase in speed from the 750gb platter to the 640?

Just lookin' for some quick opinions

Maybe not significant, but it will be faster.

I believe the 640 is faster since the platters (2x320gb) are denser. The 750 is 3x250gb.

The Blacks not only have more cache, but also dual processors. They are the non-ssd drive IMO.

Yah, I'd definitely rate them over the Samsung F1/F3. I acutally have a buddy who did light testing (nothing significant) on both brands, and he prefers WD. So, the denser platters wouldn't have much to do on performance? I know the cache alone might not be, but I heard with denser platters, 16 to a 32mb cache really makes a difference (contrary to upgrading to 750, where the platters are the same).
