So I just got myself a brand new 2002 accord, but the windows didn't come tinted. They only filter out UV rays or something like that. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about tinting the windows. I've heard that no matter how good the place is, the tint will always bubble and peel off in a couple years. Is that true?

The aftermarket tint on my old 1985 blazer never bubbled and was still intact when I got rid of it in 1999. Do you consider 14+ years a few years?

Not true..........I have had heavy tint (35% I think) for 5 years..........just a little wear from the rollers inside the door for the window. Just have someone do it that knows what they are doing.

Any good metallic tint will never peel off.

Some cars have problems because of the way the rear defroster is. The tint can't go smoothly over the rear window because of those little lines, and it some cases little black dots around the edges. A cavalier is a good example. If you see a cavalier with a dark tint in the rear take a look, you'll see what i mean.

Dude, I tinted windows the summer after I graduated hs. If the job is done properly, there will be no bubbles. If I paid to have windows tinted, I would not accept any bubbles whatsoever. Tint will eventually dry out, crack, and or began to pull away from the glass but this shouldn't happen for several years.
