I am a current United States Navy member. Before I went into the military I sold my car and completely canceled my car insurance. I am scheduled to go to sea and have 0 need for a car in the next 5 years. If I decide to make the navy a career and do without a car for the next 20 years, is there any downfall in this? As far as the fact that the longer you drive the more discounted insurance you'll get. I know that part of what you pay for a insurance premium is based on your age. Do they still base it on age if you haven't been driving for all the years?
