Question about buying new car

This sounds kinda dumb...but...is there a grace period after you buy a car for you to be able
to...say return it???
The problem is I just purchased a new Ford Focus.....paid less than invoice....but after I finished signing all the paper work..
they finally finished cleaning the car and brought it into the show room for me to look it over "with a fine tooth comb" as they put it.
To look for scratches and imperfections. Its brand new..with less than 10 miles on it....what scratches could there be??
Surprise surprise...there are a lot of deep scratches on the roof of the car. They don't know what they can do about it yet.
Their service department is closed on the weekend. Tells me they will call on Monday and have me brind it in to see what they can do.
I've had been there for almost 8 hours already...tired of being there. Told them OK.
Don't think they can buff it out. Repaint it? Wouldn't that decrease value of the car? What should I do now? What choices do I have?
I'm going back there tomorrow and chat with them agian. I don't want the car if they have to do drastic repairs on the thing.
Any Advice????

Thanks

you should've examined the car carefully before signing anything.
Now, legally, you have to take that car...cause you have your signature on the paper already.
But realistically, u might be able to get another car for the replacement. Insist on what you want, and the dealer will try to please you as much as they can...after all, they know how close they come to sell this car. So, stand firm on your demand, I think things will work out fine.

Repainting won't decrease the value. If they do a good job, you won't be able to tell.

If you never took delivery, you wouldn't be liable.

You definitely shouldn't have taken the car as it was.

Edit: some states may have a "cooling off" period where the buyer can return the car within a specified time period.

Thanks for advices. I know I shouldn't have taken the car. That was dumb. Do you guys know where I can
find out if Washington state has a cooling off period?

Thanks Manly for the info. Damm, no dice in Washington. I'm still going back there today and hassel them.
They told me the scratches have to be taken care of in 48 hours of purchase. Don't know what that means. And i have to
wait 'till Monday to have the car looked at by there service department or some lady. There goes 24 hours that I can't do anything about.
I just feel like bitching them out...
