The only drug test I've been given was by my insurance company. I don't actually know if they gave me one, but I had to pee in two cups and I know it's a common practice.Originally posted by: SonnyDaze
I just had a blood test done for insurance purposes and was told they would check for diabetes, cholesterol, HIV and nicotene and alcohol. I would imagine they could check for THC in the blood.....I know it's primarily detected in the urine. OH!! Damn...I gave a urine test too...yikes!! J/K.![]()
That's what it sounds like to me too.Originally posted by: bctbct
A mom doesnt get her teenage son checked for cholesterol, me thinks you might be getting pawned.

Yeah, I think it stays in your blood a lot longer than in your urine.Originally posted by: Killerme33

I thought that would only help w/ urine tests, not blood tests?

It helps to flush the system out, it's the same reason it's recomended for any drug test. Drinking a bunch of water on the day of to dilute the urine is a different story entirely.Originally posted by: Killerme33

Since when? They'll gouge the insurance company for as much as the insurance company will authorize, needed or not.Originally posted by: tweakmm
but I don't believe they normally do, each test costs money and doctors are not in the business of wasting money.
I'm not so sure about this. THC is stored in the fat and is slowly released. The "one month" thing is so innacurate it's not even funny. A skinny guy with a fast metabolism who only smokes once would more than likely be clean in a matter of days.Originally posted by: 2Xtreme21

Ding ding. THC stays in the blood for a month or more. Some drug testing devices can detect up to 4 months of usage by analyzing the amount of certain enzymes cannabinoid receptors give off when stimulated.
I really doubt insurance companies authorize drug tests on routine blood work because testing for drugs in blood is expensive.Originally posted by: Pacfanweb

How old are you? If you're under 18 they might not have to tell you. I really have no idea about that though.Originally posted by: ArJuN
Stupid mom. I'm going to walk in and ask them what test they are running. If it's a drug test, I'm walking back out.
Yes, it can be detected in the blood. From what I just Googled, how long varies with how much you use it.Originally posted by: DeathBUA
Testing for THC is MUCH easier to do with a urine test.
I've never seen nor drawn anything to detect THC in the blood.(and i work in an inner city hospital where nearly every other person tests positive for something)
Urine only.
So chill man.

An overweight stoner who smokes 8 times daily might test positive for more than a month after cessation.
