Question about balancing rails on Antec TP-650

Hello,

Working on my new build now. Components are as follows:

EVGA SLI LE motherboard
i7-920 processor
6GB Crucial PC3-8500
Intel 80GB SSD
WD 1.5TB HDD
Radeon HD4870 1GB
Samsung DVD+/-RW
Noctua NH-D14 cooler
Antec TP-650 PSU
Corsair 800D case

I've hooked everything up, and don't seem to need the modular cables for the Antec. My question is, should I be using one of the other modular connections to better evenly distribute power to my graphics card or HDDs?

Which rail for what? All connections I've used so far are off the permanent power cords.

It is a power supply, not a see saw...there is no need to balance anything. It is designed so that it will be very very unlikely that you can overload any rail.

All of the rails are used in the non-modular connectors anyway. The ATX connector and the peripherals are all going to be on 12V1 no matter whether you use modular cables or not, the CPU connector will be on 12V2 no matter whether or not you use modular cables, and the PCI-E connectors are split across 12V3 and 12V4 on the non-modular connectors...as they are on the modular connectors.

Thanks. I did a bit more reading in the Antec manual and saw what you said about the ATX on the 12V1, CPU on 12V2, etc.

Looks like I don't even have any use for the modular connectors at this point!
