Question about Alpha 6035 and Case Fan.

I have the Alpha 6035 with a YS fan that blows away from the heatsink. My Supermicro SC750A case has a side fan that blows directly on the mobo, right where the cpu/hsf is.

Is it a problem having this fan blow directly onto the HS fan, which is tryin to blow away from the HS? The 2 fans blow directly at each other.

Any thoughts?

i would probably think so but the best way to find out is to try playing with the fan orientation yourself. I would think the 2 fans blowing against each other would create pressure for both fans, thus making both fans less effective. I would either try to make the case fan suck air out of the case to help remove the warm air going through the alpha, or make the alpha blow into the heatsink. I hear alpha heatsinks work better sucking air, so I'd go with the first method.

I heard the same about the Alphas. I can't really have the side fan blow away from the alpha b/c it'll blow right into the side panel I don't really wanna put a hole in the side panel

I've got the Alpha as well and I put a side fan on top of it exhausting air rather that taking it in. It helps keep the case temps down cause the hot air can't build up inside the case.

If you wanted, you could reverse the fan on the Alpha and have the side fan suck air in, that way you'd get much more air onto the heatsink. I don't know howmuch that would help but you could try it and find out.

Yeah, I gotta try something. My 1.330 runnin at 1.470 is at 49C idle and 55C under load. That seems high. Oh, and I'm runnin a Iwill kk266-r
