Question about additional storage on Laptop

I was looking to buy this Dell Inspiron i7559-763BLK 15.6" Full-HD Gaming Laptop but will need more storage than 256 GB.

How can I determine if I can attach a second internal hard drive? There is a reddit thread that says "There is an M.2 slot for another hard drive". I am not familiar with M.2. I also don't know if that thread is 100% the same laptop as what I have linked.

I spoke with Dell customer service and he linked me this saying it normally comes with a 128 GB SSD and a 1 TB HD which would indicate there's room if these are the same. At the same time the Dell representative said the specific one on Amazon "cannot come with additional drive". When I asked for clarification, he told me there are not 2 hard drive bays for the one I'm looking at.

So it sounds like adding a 2.5" HD will not work. If not, what are my other options?

Many laptops have adapters that replace the optical drive with a second SATA drive, HDD or SSD. One can also replace the basic OS drive with a larger one. There are other options as well, including eternal USB drives, NAS, and the Cloud.

from my research on that model, the laptop motherboard has an m.2 slot on it, used a ribbon cable for the 2.5" drive. if you buy one without the 2.5" it is unkown if it will have the ribbon cable for the hard drive

This one does't have an optical drive so I don't think that is an option. I'm looking to us the 256 GB SSD, just determining if it would be possible to add something in addition to it.

I apologize but I can't tell what exactly you are saying, mind clarifying this a bit?

It sounds to me like scenario:

A. 2.5" SSD connected with a ribbon, would have to buy an m.2 ssd.

B. m.2 is already used with SSD, not sure if ribbon exists for 2.5" drive

C. m.2 is already used with SSD, extra m.2 connection exists

several reviews say it has an empty 2.5" bay. Amazon reviewers who installed a 2.5" drive make no mention of requiring an additional ribbon cable.

This hatch provides easy access to the memory and AN EMPTY SLOT FOR A DISK DRIVE WITH A CONNECTOR CABLE WAITING! The only hesitancy I had about the features of this computer was the limited storage space on the included SSD (i.e. 256GB) but that is now a non-issue with the easy addition of another SSD in the future. I even temporarily installed a 2.5 inch HD I had lying around and verified it would work. There also appears to be an empty slot for another memory card but I did not test it.
there are also a few customer images with the bottom panel removed showing the 2.5" drive bay and connector.

So B is the closest, except the connector/cable is already included.
