ASUS C.O.P (CPU Overheating Protection) is a hardware protection circuit that automatically shuts down the system power before temperatures go high enough to permanently damage your CPU.


does that mean that if the heatsink falls off, it won't fry your processor?

yup it will shutdown before overheating... since it reads the temp from the built in diode on athlonxp cpu's it should be able to shutdown before the cpu is damaged if the hsf falls off
