Question about A7V133 and Duron 900

I just bought a Duron 900 Retail, an ASUS A7V133, and 256 MB RAM from newegg.com... ( i know retail is unnecessary on the cpu, but I am not overclocking and wanted the warranty)

The PS is a plain 300 watt, and I have a rear case fan in addition to the default HSF. My CPU is currently running 45 C

This is within the spec, but am I running it too hot? It isn't overclocked and I will probably add a better PS and 2 more case fans, but I don't want to burn it up :)

Been a while since I built my last system and that was a Celeron 366 which ran much cooler...

Other than the cpu and mb are wonderful.

Thanks,
Bill

I believe anything in the 40's is more than acceptable.
I'm running a 1.33@1507 @47c .
I just asked the same question in another post.

I have a 1.0@1.1GHz Tbird at 55C in a 28C living room. I don't feel threatened. Don't forget that the A7V133 reads temps higher than most KT133 and KT133A socket-thermistor equipped mobos. The readings also depend on which bios you are using. For comparison, I have a Taisol GCK 742092 with Arctic Silver and a YS Tech 27cfm fan and my case airflow is decent.

I wonder if that is why when I use lm_sensors (Linux Hardware Monitoring software) I get 38.6C on the CPU and 44 - 45C in the BIOS. The MB Temp is pretty constant in both around 33C I believe. I need to verify which BIOS I am using. Is the newest one pretty good? Any downsides/upsides to upgrading?

Thanks,
Bill

Is this your temp when the cpu is 100% stressed, or is this
your idle temp, or somewhere in between?

If this is your "stress" temp you are in good shape. Otherwise
you may need a better cooling solution.
