Question about a locked thread in Off Topic

I'm not really trying to be a nitpick with this, really. I was just curious why this thread was locked with the comment to use the search feature and it was linked to this thread when the second thread was started almost a full day after the first one? I understand there doesn't need to be two posts on the same topic, but why wouldn't the second thread be the one that was locked?

If this should have been done in a private message to the Mods, I apologize. I've never questioned anyting like this and I wasn't sure where it should go. Please let me know so if I have a question in the future I will go through the proper contact procedure.

Suprise, suprise. Mods are human, and we make mistakes.

they admitted their mistake but I guess they can't/won't unlock the original thread. Oh well, mistakes happen. Cut 'em a little slack...

2 apologies in 2 threads in about a week. Wow, cool. Mods are getting more respect from me. Not that they didn't have it anyway.

I have a question for the mods... Is it possable to say, reset my postcount to zero?

There is a lot of questions. There is a lot goes unanswered, flushed down(deleted) or shoved under a rug(lockage with no explanation). What kind of work were you expecting from anonymous volunteer moderators who are just taking a role as a moderator for their own power trip?

There is a reason Anand supports these moderators. He's getting free forums moderation. Remember, AnandTech is capitalism. They have no problem kicking out one people just because a moderator felt like it. Anand doesn't care as long as it doesn't affect banner click counts.

uberturbo, you're assuming an awful lot for someone with 3 posts. This is a private board, the mods here do a good job, and to my knowledge, no one has been "kicked out" with absolutely no reason.

Boy Uberturbo's rant sounds just like the one from LOB over at Shadow Works.

It's not a fact. It's your opinion, thus you should've said "I think mods here doa good job[/b]

and to my knowledge, no one has been "kicked out" with absolutely no reason.

I don't believe so. "Because I felt like it" is a reason too.

I don't see much point in joining a Forum exclusively to gripe about how it's run. And looking at Junior's four posts, that appears to be the long and short of it. Chill out, dude... life's too short to waste on looking for things to gripe about.

Not much.

Nothing. What part of "we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone" do you not understand?

If you don't like it, you may leave. No where in the Constitution are you guaranteed the right to use the property of others.

I don't believe so. "Because I felt like it" is a reason too.

"Because they felt like it" is all the reason they need. Get over it.

Dang, I was just asking to get a little clarification or to possibly point out an oversight, not to rag on the mods or anything. I think they do a great job around here and I can understand how easy it is to make a mistake. If I were them though, I would want my mistakes pointed out to me so I can correct them and that was all I was trying to do. Thanks Mods.

Don't forget. These anonymous volunteer moderators were selected to be moderators.

Looks like you should start listening to yourself.

You should be saying:
"I think AnandTech is capitalism."
"I think they have no problem kicking out one people (shouldn't that say person?) just because a moderator felt like it."
"I think Anand doesn't care as long as it doesn't affect banner click counts."

Apparently, you're not aware that most of the banner click counts come through www.anandtech.com, which few visit. Apparently, you're not aware tha the click counts are what keeps these forums alive, for non-subscribers at least.

Uberturbo...
You sound like Jerboy, in fact, I'm willing to put bets on it.

Comon kid, deal with the fact that there are people that have power over you.
Here is a scenario for you. I know you have never encountered it before, because you are still a youngin, and you whine like a teenager.

Say you go out for a night on the town, to some clubs. And I allow you the privilege of entering my club, talking to my patrons, and buying my alcohol. Notice how I used the word PRIVILEGE.
Say you make a snide remark to the bartender on how he makes his drinks, or remark on the price of the cover to the 350lb bouncer.
Or you start getting loud and annoying to the point where the other patrons of my bar are getting upset.
I have all the right in the world to boot you out of my club, and as far as the bouncer will chase you down the street.

If you so much as LOOK at a member of the staff or a patron in the wrong way, you are open game to get removed from the club.

The real world works that way kid. Someday when you actually join us in maturity, you will understand and drop that amazing sense of entitlement you have.

Put simply... kid you ain't sh!t.
