Question about a chip

I want to know what is the name of the chip in intel Pro/wireless 3945ABG, for example I had a problem with a NIC that is made by D-Link I couldn?t install the card in Solaris and neither in Linux, the problem after a lot of work was solved, the OS recognize the card and though that was the correct driver for that chip, but not, it was the wrong driver, in the end someone help me giving me a link to the correct drivers, but I want to know how I can know what is the name in NIC chip, for example Yukon I, II, how do you make to know that?
