I dont like his music, but this thread isnt about that. I've heard people I know basically say the reason they bought his album was due to his having gotten shot 9 times, b/c it give him "credibility". I've heard that he got hit 9 times quite a bit, but I have yet to hear what gun he was shot with. Does anyone know the caliber gun he was shot with? I would think it would be, at most, a 9mm, and probably something down quite a bit lower (22 area)

I think it was a 9mm. The one that actualy hit him in the jaw went through some part of the car first thus it only went thru his cheek and knocked out a few teeth.

I'd give someon 50 cents to crush his head with a cinder block. Gangsta rap a-hole. "Street cred" is BS. Only matters to other gangsta rap a-holes with no respect for anything but bling and Escalades.

I think he sucks. I was givin a promo of his FIRST album when he was with Columbia records (like 4 years ago), he sucked then too. Now, though, his songs have hooks that appeal to mainstream music listeners, and his songs are radio friendly. Just goes to show you what decent production can do ;)

My personal opinion is "50 Cent" should have been introduced to Mr 50 Cal (preferably, from the BMG side of the family), but hey, that's just me

Ditto. Whats wrong with a guy making some money singing a few songs?

As for your mates buying his cd for him being shot 9 time is a bit much. I'd buy music because I like it not because he has *creditbility* or they are a bunch of lesbians *tatu* or what not.

More power to people who can sell records and make some money out of it. Dont' like it just turn it off the tv!

I personally liketh is 1st tune. Its alright.

(too many haters)

yeah, he had a hit put on him for a song he put out a few years back called "how to rob an industry awesome dude"

I had the song on a few mix tapes back in college and that was when he started gaining rep and street cred. He pissed off way too many people though and apparently people wanted him dead, ah well, the life of a rapper

No, not jealous at all. If he had some talent, maybe it would be jealousy. What I am sick of is these street trash thug animals not appreciating their positions or their fortunes. They perpetuate the animalistic street thug stereotype, even after amassing their fortunes.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. Why do these rappers feel the need to try and kill each other over some barely understandable words gargled into a microphone? Did you ever hear of the Beetles putting a hit out on David Bowie? Or when Fred Durst and Scott Stapp had their little problems, did either one of them do a drive by and try to kill the other? No, you know why? Because they're not animals trying to impress other animals with how tough they are.

You made your fortune, you have the cars, you have the nice house. Stop trying to be so damn "hard" all the time. Grow up.

50 is sweet. Plain and simple. If you don't like the flavor don't listen. I hate the sorry ass music made by the Beatles but I don't whine about it.

Obviously you haven't listened to his first album released on columbia records (His album that is out right now isn't his first). Take a listen, then tell me how great of a rapper he is. The onl;y thing sweet about his records is the production.

What a guy can't make a bad album? 50's album that is out now is good. Very good. It just gets old, so old with I hate gangsta rapper threads. 99.9% of them don't know a single damn thing about nothing concerning rap. Lets talk about Janice Joplin, Cobain, Morrison and the oh so many more dead dead dead rock stars. Yea their lives are something to really hang your hat on.

The Beatles never made a bad album. But I wouldn't hold 50 to their standard. :D

I agree that the gangsta-rap bashing here is pretty bad. Some people dismiss music without giving it a chance. Personally, I have been a big rap fan for 15+ years. 50's newest album is one of the more recent rap albums that I really like.

But that doesn't change the fact that the Beatles are the best band ever. :D

At least they didn't go around shooting at each other and putting other people at risk in the process. Whatever. I'm gonna go cock my Glock and polish my 22" spinners now...

They couldn't go around cause they were humped over in some stupor. Hey I like rock music. I listen to just as much rock as I do rap. But lets get one thing straight, there are bad examples in music period. A guy running around shooting at people ain't much worse than a drug addict singer laying around with a needle stuck in his arm.

The moral of the story is:

Don't look at musicians as role models. They will disappoint you most of the time.
