Question about 3dmark

Well, I recently installed a Visiontek geforce 3ti200 as the first step of upgrading my computer this summer. After running 3dmark 2001 I noticed I got an ok score (around 5000) which seems to be near the top of my processor class (Celeron 900). So I d/led 3dmark2000 and ran it. It turns out I actually get lower performance in 3dmark2000 then I fo in 3dmark2001. Is this normal? Thanks.
