Really? You cant see the difference? The locations of both pictures should give you a clue. You didnt think this one out very well.

I'd say they are apples and oranges. I wouldn't necessarily find either "threatening," but both would cause me to pay particular care to my surroundings. I'd rather neither of these scenarios existed because I think it would be entirely reasonable for someone to find either or both of them threatening.

One picture the guy has the weapon in his hand.
The other does not.

One is a threat.
The other is not.

What do I win?

Are you saying that people simply standing with weapons outside of a polling station is threatening, but someone simply standing with a weapon in other locations is not?

I agree with DVC, both can be considered threatening. Standing armed outside a polling station when there is no evidence that anyone is being harassed/threatened/whatever there is just being an asshole. Similarly, the people who walk around strapped with pistols and rifles on display are just being assholes as well.

 Black assholes vs. White assholes. Consistency there is, they're all assholes. In all seriousness, I think seeing a skinhead looking white guy walking around in a department store will probably raise an alarm in my head more so than a couple of black panthers looking dude standing outside a polling station.

Aren't guns threatening? Isn't that their deterrent value, why they are carried and why they are concealed, to create a threat that when you don't know who has one you had best not f with anybody, that if you break and enter the wrong house you might die. Isn't that why guns are actually useless against the government, because, having fought wars in which guns are used as a deterrent, they go in with overwhelming force.

Get real. Guns are a threat, a totally useless one if you, the government, is who you want to threaten. This is why the second amendment allows you to carry nuclear weapons or would, if the conservatives who pass gun laws weren't scared up the butts of radioactive liberals. Walk softly, but carry an hydrogen bomb. Pull the pin and you won't have to worry that you missed.

Guns are not threatening unless they are drawn and in somebody's hand. Otherwise they are not a threat.

Knowing the background of the situation in these pics plays into my response. I honestly wouldnt think much of either if I saw them independent of the background stories.

Can you point us to this statute?

Ask the prosecutor who arrested and charged them with voter intimidation.

Not to mention most all states have laws against any weapon at a polling station. You can clear see the weapon in hand, a DIRECT and credible threat. Had he made an aggressive move towards me or a verbal threat I could shoot him thank god.
