LINK

not sure how these are exactly.....no mah rating.....but for 4 batteries and a charger, seems like a decent deal.

through a different link it came up as $15.95...most other sites have it for 15 and up too. Thenerds.net has it for $8.32, but then you pay shipping (which they are charging $9.95 for!!!!)

even just for a backup set or something, seems like a good deal.

I believe that these are the same ones I saw at Wally world last weekend. They were 1300mh or 1350mh. Same package. I dont recall the price. Be advised tho, Quest does make a "Platinum" NiMH battery that is a 1800mh and I dont think these are them.

I bought one of these at wally world for $15 about 6 months ago. The batteries are 1300 but
they still work well for my canon a10 digital camera. The charger is a slow charger but is
probably better for the batteries than a fast charger. I just ordered a second one. thanks for the post.

Big Lots has an even better deal. They have a Panasonic charger, 6 1600mah AA's, 2 650 mah AAA's and a couple D and C converters(so you can use a AA battery in something that uses C or D size) for $12.99......

Just saw something about a 15 minute charger coming out in Q1 of 03, might want to save you pennies for a few months...

for the smaller cities, you'll probably find a few packages lying around, but in the larger cities, you really don't have any chance of finding one.

I have a couple of these Qwest chargers/battery sets that I got nearly two years ago. The green Qwest cells are only 1300 mAh, as noted above. Fine for low-drain devices but I would recommend 1700-1800 mAh cells for digital cameras. One complaint I had with this charger is that the batteries get VERY hot---almost scalding in my hand--- and stay that way as long as they're in the charger. Can't be good for the life of the battery, especially if you tend to leave an extra set of cells in the charger at all times. And the charger has a plastic "air-tight" cover that snaps over the batteries, probably increasing the heat problem even more. Perhaps Qwest has improved the charging circuitry since I bought these units, but I wouldn't count on it.

Still a good deal at this price. I moved on to the MAHA fast-charger high-capacity cells awhile back, and gave the Qwest units to my kids.

I think the new 15 minute NiMH charging standard has the technology in the battery itself as opposed to the charger. I know at least the Rayovac ones do. here is an article that describes Rayovac's 15 minute NiMH batteries with IC-3 technology.

I have seen this battery + charger in my local walmart (Piscataway, NJ) for a long time. I remember the price is $10 or something.
I didn't buy it because it looks cheap. Still prefer Energizer 1800mah. Energizer does last longer than Rayovac in my digi camera.

I can get about 100 pictures with the LCD monitor turned on. I only leave the LCD on when I am going to take a picture and turn off the
camera otherwise. Someone else in this tread complained that his 2 year old quest charger made the batteries hot. I never leave mine plugged in more than 24 hours for higher capacity batteries, 14 hours for the quest batteries. The charger is supposed to trickle charge after the batteries are fully charged. I have read that if they get hot it is bad for the batteries. I also use my quest charger for Raovac and Energizer batteries, 1800 and 1850 rated, and just leave them in for 24 hours and they just get warm.

It seems like this is same as the one at costco, is it in this week's ad price?

No, this is just the regular price. I guess there was a post about these last month, and most of the stores were cleaned out. Probably will be hard to find....

Thanks! I picked up a couple for my kids. My son hates dead batteries in his mouse and I just picked up one of those Sony MD portable players for my daughter for X Mas so she'll be psyched.
