quest for cheapest DSL service in LA area!!!!!

Man! I can't stand with my dial-up service no more. I used to get 49k a second, but ever since I moved to this new place, the connection speed decreased to 28.8k!! AAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! The pacific bell guy told me that this house only has one line splitted to two, so I only get half of the speed. AAAAAAAAIIIIIIEEEEEEEE!! I can't stand with this anymore! Give me the cheapest DSL or cable service in LA area.
 
Since you care about price, it shouldn't matter. Charter, pacbell, and verizon have raised the price to $50 (from $40, $35 for cable +$5 for modem rental)

I live in alhambra, closeby. I have charter by earthlink cable $50 now.
 
I really wish I have TV cable in my room. I know I can find cable connection for $40 a month...DSL is usually $10 more.
