One question, how does their cost of upkeep compare to the BMW's?

I've got a 95 BMW 325i w/77K miles and just last week I put in $2,500 to fix it up. Had to replace so much stuff, aux fan motor, brakes, water pump, belts, blah blah blah and that was without replacing the clutch. Repairs will be pretty costly I think. Plus, it may be difficult to work on the car if you want to do it yourself bc BMWs need special tools which you would have to get.

I've heard complaints from some SVT owners that "normal" shops won't work on SVT vehicles. Ford only lets SVT certified techs work on the cars. If you don't have an SVT dealer near you, or an SVT certified tech at the least, then you may have problems getting warranty/service done on the car.
Hmmmmm, good point...

I looked and they are around, but there isn't one REAL close. (actually, that is why I was scratching my head)

MWilding - iirc, Ford's warranties are only for 30,000 miles anyway - PacFanWeb should/would be able to verify/deny that claim. It has less than 500 until it goes over it. I'm sure none of the other cars still have their original warranties anyway

vi - I agree with you on the SVT-less Contours depreciating fast, but I think that a luxury car shouldnt depreciate as much as it has so fast. A 3 year old top of the line Camry/Accord depreciates slower than either of those and they're just your average middle of the run cars. What good is prestige or luxury when it's worth so much less than what one originally paid for it?

vi_edit, I meant been in an SVT, not just a regular contour. The only bad thing about the interior that I can think of is the cop holders. Now im pissed at my car because i had a problem that just cost $1600 to fix. Thats not peanuts and its way more than I ever thought it would be. But I still love my car and think the interior/exterior/engine cant be beaten for nearly the same price.
