Query in new system building??

Hi guys,

I have a setup that includes an Asus A8N32 SLI Motherboard, an opteron 170 0550upmw, a Zalmann 9500 fan, a chenbro gaming bomb II case ( 2 fans) and a seasonic S 12 PSU. this is the first sytem I built from scratch.

I booted up yesterday and tested it on XP SP2 32 bit. Played some games (Oblivion). My intention is to overclock to around 2500Mhz on air stable.

Through AI booster I noted the CPU temp running around 49C on normal installation of programs and around 52C after 1 hour of oblivion. Is it good?

I assembled the CPU / heatsink myself. I put around a small pea of paste that came with the Zalman (almost all the small tube) ans smeared it to a thin paste with a piece of cardboard. i then attached the Zalman ( I was unsure how much I had to tighten the screws of the clip as I thought it would damage the MB). Did I put too much paste or is the heatsink not tigntened enough, or should I use the Zalmann fan controller rather than letting the Silverstone fan controller do it automatically?

Thanks a lot for all your precious help.

Kind regards

Jurgen
