Quentin Tarantino: wtf is going on with him?

Actually, when Tarantino suggests a movie I usually check it out. He has good tastes in movies.

The first time I saw Hero there were no subtitles so it made no sense. Then after buying it on DVD I can say I feel its a good movie. Nice visuals, decent overall story. Without getting into spoiler territory I'll just say that I dont really agree with plot, considering the skill level of the people in the movie, but it was entertaining none the less. Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon fans will preobably like this more than Kill Bill 1 fans.

Ummm.sure. He's one of the most critically acclaimed and influential directors today. I hardly think that his career is over after a movie that critics and serious movie fans loved.

Influential? I seriously beg to differ. He "borrows" from past masters more than any other director I can think of.

Up until the Kill Bill series, Tarantino was guilty of remaking the same movie over and over again. I find him amaturish in his directing, writing, and characterization. His dialogue, though often snappy, is over done. It's getting boring.

His limited imagination is evident.

I'd be interested in seeing Tarantino create a film that differs from his tried formula. He needs variety before he can be described as a great director.

Quentin Tarantino makes great Tarantino movies, but that's about it.

Yes. Even if he 'borrows', it doens't mean that one cannot be influential.

Every signle one of his movies is the same? How is Reservoir Dogs exactly the same as Jackie Brown? Am I missing something?

You may not like him as a director, but most film critics certainly do as well as many serious film fans.

Yep. Pulp Fiction had a huge impact on the movie industry, especially in the mid-90s (what with The Usual Suspects and Things To Do In Denver When You're Dead and so forth) and helped make independent films a factor.

Voodoo is to graphics cards as Quentin Tarantino is to movies. It was good, until others realized new non-household name brands were better. Tarantino needs to stop hiding behind his "cool" aura.

the movie sucks so who cares ...

the preview of the movie makes the movie look like a COMPLETELY different movie than it actually is. there is hardly any action in it. and the majority of the action has more artsy-fartsy stuff than actual action.
"the movie sucks so who cares ... "... Wrong.
"there is hardly any action in it" Wrong.
"and the majority of the action has more artsy-fartsy stuff than actual action." Partially correct, but who wants to see ultimate fighting in a martial arts movie?

Tarantino is awsome...but he does have a foot fetish....you see how much camera time Uma's feet have gotten in Kill Bill and Pulp Fiction?

And she has fugly feet IMO.....all gnarly and shyt...nasty...

yes please tarantino stop making movies so more movies like "catwomen" can be made or even alien vs. predator vs. robocop.

tarantino is a great director if you can't see that then I don't know what to tell you. As for Hero, it was okay but nothing to get worked up about. I will rent it but I won't pay to see it.
